Founded in 2019, the African American Heritage Trail highlights the city's rich African American history and culture through 11 different sites, including the Blair-Coltrane House, Historic First Baptist Church(now land site), and Greenhill Cemetery.
The African American Heritage Trail was developed in partnership with several members of the Washington Street Historic Preservation Society. A group dedicated to protecting, preserving, revitalizing and maintaining the architectural characteristics and historical significance. Originally funded in part by Visit High Point, the Heritage Trail has been a long standing cultural based project.
