About the event

 It’s 3rd Saturdays!!!

On Saturday, January 21st, and every 3rd Saturday the African American Heritage Trail Tour bus travels to Sedalia to visit the Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum.

Load the bus in High Point at Washington Terrace Park and journey with us on a round-trip shuttle to Sedalia for a walking tour.

Seats are limited and we have one just for you and your guests.

The Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum is significant as North Carolina’s first state historic site honoring an African American woman, preserving the legacy of Dr. Charlotte Hawkins Brown and the Palmer Memorial Institute, an elite boarding school that educated thousands of Black students during the Jim Crow era, highlighting themes of African American education, women’s history, social progress, and Black excellence in the South.

It showcases the success of Black youth and educators, linking their contributions to broader American history.
